Ephesians 3:20

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.’

Higher Than the Ceiling

Brenda Walsh

When approaching the throne room of God, it’s important to have faith that God actually listens and answers your prayers, for prayer and faith go hand in hand! The Bible says in Matthew 21:21, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.” God certainly makes it very clear how important believing in Him is. Too often, prayers are prayed “hoping, hoping, hoping” that God will hear, but not actually believing that He will. Yet, God says in Matthew 21:22, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” It’s not enough to just “hope,” you must believe. In 1 John 5:14, Jesus says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” With promises like that, why is it that so many people have trouble believing God even hears them when they pray? You often hear people say, “I don’t think my prayers go higher than the ceiling.” That’s exactly what Satan wants you to think, but it’s a lie! God hears not only your audible prayers, He hears your heart! If your faith is weak, pray, “Lord, give me faith,” and God will give you the trust you need to believe in Him! You can know without a doubt that your prayers go much higher than the ceiling - for they go straight to the throne room of God!

Isaiah 12:2 "Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; For the LORD GOD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation." (Isaiah 12:2, NASB),

Hebrews 4:16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16, NASB)
