Good afternoon everyone Heather and Tim here. We wanted to let everyone know what’s going on at the ranch.
TREAT DRIVE: We plan to have a treat drive today and will probably go live sometime around 5-6pm and talk for a little bit. I will go live earlier if able to.
VET: We have called the vet and have an appointment for them to come out on Friday to check the pregnant girls(per the request of viewers) and we figured we should get them to go ahead and give yearly shots and coggins test.(required). If you would like to donate towards this you can click here.
HAY: We got 780 of the 2,100 square bales and the 100 round bales needed for the year. We are working on getting the rest as soon as we can.
HORSES TEETH: We have an appointment with an Equine Dentist on June 16th to come float 6 horses teeth. We probably need more than 6 done but it is $95 each and we just planned for 6 this time. We will schedule again when we are able too.
RAFFLE: We are having our Raffle this Sunday at I think 2pm but Tim will send a reminder with the time another day this week. You can get Tickets on our website here. The cups this time are AMAZING! We even have a new type of cup that holds bottles and cans! Did I say how awesome they are. You will wish you got tickets if you don’t!
PERFECTO: We got more updated videos of Perfecto today. If y’all remind me tonight on the live I will show them to everyone again. He is doing great. We really hope to be able to continue his training and to put Mia into training when Perfecto is finished.
PREGNANT HORSES: Let’s talk about the mommies to be for a few minutes. The other night on YouTube I mentioned that Tim and I were concerned that maybe Tia and Ignacia were not really pregnant and that maybe the vet made a mistake. This led to a bit of a ruckus as you can imagine. The reason why we say that is because even though the vet said that she has seen horses go longer this year it’s so rare to see one go this far over much less two in the same barn. Neither have had hardly any bag whatsoever. Tim couldn’t feel anything in Tia when he palpated them but he really doesn’t know what he is feeling FOR as he is certainly not a trained professional or a vet. He did feel something in Ignacia but again he doesn’t know what. He felt a fluid filled bag in both but was not sure if it was a baby or what.
However there are also reasons to believe they ARE pregnant. Like neither have gone back into heat at ALL even though they have been around stallions. Neither are likely to be in horse menopause yet. They were both confirmed as pregnant by vets. Twice.
They are fat. Like fat rolls and butt rolls.
If they had of lost a baby we would have seen a baby as they would have to deliver it. If the baby passed inside of them they would abort the baby or it would make the mom VERY SICK and we would know.
They act pregnant (too many things to list)
We talked to a friend last night whose horse went 364 days and had NO BAG until 2 hours before a healthy filly was born a month ago. So that made me feel a little more that it’s possible and the milk bag doesn’t matter as much. Either way per viewers request we made an appointment for the vet to come out to get a professional opinion and end the debate. Then last night we went out to feed and check the girls and do a little clean up and lo and behold after almost 390 some odd days I saw a LITTLE change in their bags. I’ve taken to taking pictures each night to compare and will try to update the pictures on the website under the friends group if I remember too each night/day.
