Choose Happiness
Life is truly a beautiful gift from God. Every day, every hour, every minute that goes by will never come again, so live each day to the fullest. There will always be ups and downs because we live in a world of sin, but how you choose to respond to each challenging situation will determine whether you’ll be happy . . . or miserable. Happiness is a choice - not a feeling. If you’re sitting around waiting for happiness to find you - well, don’t hold your breath because it will be a very long wait! Author and speaker, Earl Nightingale once said, “Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.” How true that is. Life is too short to be walking around with a bad attitude. Choose to be happy. Being angry, sad, and grumpy is a terrible way to live. The Bible says in Proverbs 17:22, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Christians should be the happiest people in the world. With Jesus in your heart, you don’t have to worry about all the things that could stress you out or make you anxious. Just let God deal with it and trust Him to take care of you. Relax in His arms, claiming His promise in Psalm 32:7: “You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” Jesus loves you so much and He wants you to be happy. Psalm 37:4 tells us, “Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.” God not only offers complete and abundant joy - but He has given you a clear road map to find soul-satisfying peace and contentment by spending time in prayer and reading His Holy Word. True happiness is only obtainable by serving God and having an intimate relationship with Him. Choose happiness by giving your whole heart to Jesus today - why worry when you can be happy!

(1 Thessalonians 5:16-24, ESV)
