Jeremiah 33:3
“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”
Overwhelmed, Stressed Out & Sick of It
Nobody has it easy in this life because we live in a world of sin. It doesn’t matter how wealthy you are, what privileges you were born with, or what status you’ve achieved, there will always be some sort of trial, heartache, or challenge to overcome–that you can be sure of. All can be running smoothly one moment and the next your wonderful world falls apart with just one devastating phone call revealing the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, an eviction notice, or any other catastrophic event. In an instant everything changes. It’s not a matter of “if” trials will come but rather “when” they will come. Sooner or later, life has a way of kicking you in the gut. How you respond to these challenges and struggles says a lot about you and your walk with the Lord. Do you have a close relationship with God and is your trust in Him strong enough to sustain you during the hard times? Or have you allowed your spiritual life to grow cold and your faith weak? Whether you are experiencing hardships, calamity, disasters, or outright failure–Jesus is your answer and He is your ONLY answer! The Bible tells us in Isaiah 30:20, “Though the Lord may give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself any more, but your eyes shall see your Teacher.” It doesn’t matter what cyclone has struck your life, there is hope through every storm because God is with you and has promised in Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you.” There is no reason to panic or lose sleep–God’s got you! Don’t wait until you are at the end of your rope–overwhelmed, stressed out and sick of it to decide it’s time to get on your knees. And you don’t have to wait for some cataclysmic event to pray. Give your burdens to Jesus today . . . the big ones and the littles ones! Tell Him all your problems, cares and concerns. If it matters to you–it matters to Jesus! Don’t wait a moment longer for the peace and comfort that God wants to give you. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
